Another frog beetle, from the remaining 8 cocoons has just been born. It’s always exciting to watch. I just wish I had a more powerful camera to take better pictures to share.

I watched him for a good half hour, first alerted by his ‘scratchings’ from inside the cocoon. I think they may actually eat part of the cocoon, or maybe it is the leftover from its former body?

He’s now perched – as is typical of the Sagra – on the ceiling.
