The fourth Chelorrhina Polyphemus has emerged from her coccoon today.  It’s still an exciting experience, I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it.  I mean it’s a miracle how a fat grub builds itself a coccoon – and then after a matter of weeks transforms itself into a beautiful beetle.  Very alien.
The fifth poly is still coccooning, but will emerge very soon.  And, the sixth poly – named John – still hasn’t coccooned yet!  He seems to be having too much fun as a grub (he LOVES his food).
